Travel day from Cancun to the ferry town of Playa Del Carmen - about 45 minutes South of Cancun.  The once sleepy
fishing village was expanded into yet another "Turista Mecca" - shopping, resorts, and restaurants abound.

Instead of a taxi ride just to the Cancun bus station, our driver pitched an offer to drive straight to Playa Del Carmen.
Since the offer was less than $20 more and eliminated all the transfers with luggage, the offer was gladly accepted.

Summer season hadn't started quite yet; however, the queue for the ferry was long.  Once aboard, the ride to Cozumel
island was only 30 minutes; however, the waters were high and looking through the ferry windows at the horizon was
key.  As always, there were considerate sellers of snorkeling, SCUBA, and other activity packages.

Upon arrival and walking through the gantlets of auto rental, time share property, and activity kiosks, we transferred
to the boutique type hotel Casa Del Mar.   Our two story room included an upstairs living room, full bath, and small
kitchenette.  Walls included the natural rocky stone of the island and extensive wood and reeds for door inserts and
trim.  Dining was a pleasure in the open air and high thatched roof restaurant.  Enchiladas pollo were fresh and
flavorful with the verde lime induced sauce.

A short taxi ride down the road was the Intercontinental Presidente resort.  We visited during the afternoon to enjoy
lunch by the cove and arrange for tomorrow's dive expedition.
