                                                 Day 18  - July 13 - London, England

                                                Diana Walk

                                                

                                                Noon flight from Frankfurt back to London Heathrow - straight Underground route to Marble Hall stop and hotel.  Time for a London

                                                scenic blitz and the Diana Princess of Wales Walk in Hyde Park.

 

                                                Hyde Park was in full bloom - people and flowers.  Scenes included the new London Bombing Victim Memorial - 53 pillars denoting

                                                each victim and their transport station.  Another Memorial was the Princess Diana Fountain.  It could have been easily overlooked

                                                since it's not a flamboyant vertical fountain.  Instead, it's low to the ground for sitting, resting, and dandling feet in the fountain

                                                stream.  Other sites included the formal statues of Queen Victoria, Queen Elizabeth, Prince Albert, and King Edward.

 

                                                Evening stroll was Buckingham Palace and Harrods.  The famous department store had parked in the rear street an endless array of 

                                                foreign money purchased cars including chrome plated Lamborghini, gold plated Bugatti, and black with bright orange insert Bentley.

                                                Makes the other Ferraris and Porsches look like rental cars.   

 

                                                Time to end the day and vacation - tomorrow is the direct flight from London Gatwick to O-town with thoughts of the Cretan adventures.
