                                    Day Nineteen  Nelson April 01
                                               
                                            The day was made for visiting wineries - Clear skies and perfect temperatures.  Our
                                            Marlborough circuit started with Villa Maria and followed with Nautilus, Cloudy Bay,
                                            Forest Estate, and Wither Hills.  The average age of most wineries is less than 
                                            20 years and is the early stages of another Napa Valley.  All Cellar Doors (wineries)
                                            provided samples at no charge with spirited explanations of their grapes, processes,
                                            and overall wine results.  Forest Estate had a cheese platter available at low cost
                                            and provided outdoor seating for their wine samples.
 
                                            Additional stop included the small Marlborough Farmer's Market - several kiosks with
                                            breads, fruits, and other delectables from the area.  In the background was a two
                                            man jazz team adding to the pleasant atmosphere.
 
                                            Our drive continued via yet another low mountain area and descended on the costal
                                            city of Nelson.
