Day Eight Lady Elliott
Island
March 21
-
-
After a dramatic sunrise, the long awaited chance to view the reef was more
than expected.
-
Waters around the island are amazingly clear and allows for viewing on the
scale of a live
-
aquarium.
-
-
A dive/snorkeling boat leaves the island during high tide. Glass
bottom on the boat allows
-
for great viewing while heading to a designated reef area selected by the
guide.
-
-
The spectrum of fish seen during snorkeling is unparalleled. Besides
swimming in the middle
-
of schools of vibrant blue fish, larger and more unique fish swam below the
in the deep
-
reef - Trigger fish, Parrot fish, Angel fish , Barracuda, and the list goes
on. Only pure
-
exhaustion caused us to stop for land return.
-
-
After lunch, it was relaxation on the beach until the return flight - again
the use of a
-
grass runway (freshly watered the night before). Think the prop sounds
will echo in our
-
ears for days to come.
